“Kiva’s mission is to connect people, through lending, for the sake of alleviating poverty.
Kiva empowers individuals to lend to an entrepreneur across the globe. By combining microfinance with the internet, Kiva is creating a global community of people connected through lending.
Kiva was born of the following beliefs:
- People are by nature generous, and will help others if given the opportunity to do so in a transparent, accountable way.
- The poor are highly motivated and can be very successful when given an opportunity.
- By connecting people we can create relationships beyond financial transactions, and build a global community expressing support and encouragement of one another.
Kiva promotes:
- Dignity: Kiva encourages partnership relationships as opposed to benefactor relationships. Partnership relationships are characterized by mutual dignity and respect.
- Accountability: Loans encourage more accountability than donations where repayment is not expected.
- Transparency: The Kiva website is an open platform where communication can flow freely around the world.
Kiva has facilitated over $250 million in loans.”

What a great concept for a lending institution!! I’m going to see if it can be applied in Louisville, KY
Great stuff!
I like the concept especially as you are helping to jump start small projects into helping themselves. Fits nicely with what I have seen with your own methology. Yes, I will donate to this and make a promise that it will be a regular habit when I master Forex trading in the future. Do you have your own group identity or just yourself?
Cool, yes, I think it’s a good way to promote sustainable development, I really like it. No, I do not have a group… I thought about it but as you know, I am quite private and I think it’s best these things come from ones own initiative etc.. etc.. but am more than happy to promote it through my blog
Thanks for you r note.
I made 4 loans over the holidays as gifts for my family. They then get repaid and can relined the money later on. That same loan can be reinvest 2 or 3 times a year.
That is a really great idea, will do that too in the future too, well done!

I’m on it 50, I’ve already made a few loans and been paid back every time. Maybe because I chose semi-established merchants?
