Updated Foundational Webinar Series

We set out to try and put together a series of webinars which could serve as a foundation for both novice and more experienced traders.

The aim was not to present a specif strategy, method or definitive guide to trading but rather, a set of guiding principals which would serve to try and set traders on a structured and unbiased path with realistic expectations.

Our focus was on moving away from the notion that there is a secret system, magical indicator and/or quick way to make consistent exaggerated returns. We wanted to help traders embrace the understanding that with a structured approach, dedication and the right expectations, it is indeed possible to achieve good risk adjusted returns.

Risk control and patience will ultimately lead to superior returns but in order for these returns to be sustainable over time, this has to be done through a slow and steady approach, respecting the profession of trading/investing.

In these 6 webinar sessions we covered:

  1. Business of Trading / Trading as a Business: focusing on re-framing your mind and expectations as a self-directed trader/investor.
  2. Market Basics & Dynamics: a structured approach to understanding positioning and context.
  3. Road-map: realistic expectations, building a plan and tracking performance.
  4. Practical Implications: understanding leverage/position sizing, track-record, compounding and the bigger picture.
  5. Guiding Principles & Key Reminders: summary and continuous improvement.
  6. New Session: Understanding Support/Resistance: trading around price action and setup basics.

This post most probably does not do justice to the depth of all the material we covered but as you know, we like to let the content find and attract the right audience.

If you are unfamiliar with our approach, there is a lot of content to explore on the blog that will no doubt help you get a feel for our style. Furthermore, the Interview Category is probably the best place to start for a look into what to expect from this Foundational Series.

Should you be interested in having access to these session, please go to the Learn Page for more details on how to proceed.

Lastly, if you have or once you have access to these session and if you feel they may benefit anyone else, please consider sharing this post as this is the best way to get what we believe to be a right and responsible message out in the open.

Wishing everyone all the best,

Trading Framework Overview

With regards to the weekly Webinars Group, if you were thinking of signing up to these sessions, I would suggest you do so sooner rather than later.

Next week we will be holding a special webinar on how we set ourselves up to be in the best possible condition to succeed daily by having a framework of setups to draw on. As always, we focus on what tends to happen the majority of the time and understanding that depending on price location and context, different setups will have a better chance of capturing action and flows.

This session will be added to the foundational series as bonus content, taking the total series run-time to over 6 hours.

Laying the Foundations…

We will kick-off the Foundational Webinar Series with the first session next week on Wednesday 23rd.

As a reminder, subscriptions to the ‘weekly webinars + foundational series’ will close on September 22nd.

Should you be interested in subscribing to the weekly webinars without attending the foundational webinars or signing up to just the weekly sessions, please use the contact page on the blog to get in touch.

Looking forwards to seeing you in the sessions 😉

Laying the Foundations…

In sticking with our commitment to continue to take the weekly webinars service to the next level and help members put themselves in the best possible condition to succeed, we will be making the following changes:
  1. Introduction of specific webinars covering a set of foundational topics ranging from: trading psychology, leverage/realistic expectations, strategy development and the business of trading. We will cover these subjects through stand-alone sessions held on a select number of Wednesdays.
  2. In order to ensure a more structured approach for serious subscribers, apart from changing the payment schedule to reflect this addition content, we will be putting subscriptions on hold until we have managed to go through all the foundational webinars. Subscriptions will close on September 22nd and reopen again around mid December.
Trading is an extremely hard way to make a living. It is not a ‘job’ in the strict sense of the word but it is a profession and unless you put yourself in a position to succeed by treating it as a business, you are going to find out the hard way how physically, psychologically and economically taxing it can be. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be done but equally, don’t let anyone give you the false impression that this is easy and that there are shortcuts. Positive reinforcement of key concepts, rules and the likelihood of different scenarios playing out  in every-changing market conditions/context is key. All the content we deliver is based on this premise and focuses on real/actionable content.
In essence, what one is required to understand/do in trading is fairly simple but not easy to consistently put into practice. Having hosted webinars and worked one-to-one with students for many years, I am convinced that the best way to really internalize ‘information/what needs to be done’ is in a live context. Furthermore, it is important to understand that it just takes time. You can’t ‘buy’ screen-time/experience and unfortunately, ‘time’ that has been used-up looking at the wrong things or not taking into account context has limited value.
Schedule Reminder:
  • Sessions are held Monday through Friday from 08:45 to 09:45 AM EST and are recorded/archived for active subscribers.
  • Foundational webinar series will be held on a monthly/bi-monthly basis on select Wednesdays at 01:00 PM EST.
In summary, the best way to look at the service is that it’s essentially a ‘morning call’ supported by a host of supporting stand-alone webinar sessions. The focus is not on simply ‘delivering’ the content but ‘explaining and detailing’ the thought process behind everything we cover. Furthermore, the ‘cherry on top’ is the open q&a dialog that takes place throughout all the sessions that ensures a direct line between host and participants.
You can find the subscription details on the LEARN page.
Hope to see you there!
